LG G Flex: Another curved smartphone enters the lists

LG has announced something slick and curvy, in the form of a new phablet dubbed the LG G Flex.
The Korean company popped out a press release in that nation's language to let us all know the Flex is a well-rounded six-incher running Android 4.2.2, packing a 720p OLED screen and with a “self-healing” rear that erases its own scratches. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 keeps things humming along with enough processor cycles to spare for a software layer that adapts graphics so they don't appear distorted. A 13 megapixel camera and 32GB of storage … errr … round things out.

LG says the curved shape fits the human face better than straight phones, makes for better sound, gets somewhere near re-creating the experience of watching an IMAX movie and also fits better into one's back pocket. Because we all want to sit on our phones.

According to INI, the G Flex's curved screen is 6 inches across, and the phone features rear-mounted buttons in a similar style to the LG G2's. The camera is said to be 13 megapixels, matching both the G2 and Samsung's Galaxy Round, which has an OLED display that curves on a different axis. The G Flex is reminiscent of LG and Samsung's curved OLED TVs, with the screen's edges slightly turning inwards when viewed in landscape orientation.
