Bored of Android ? Then get iOS in same phone!

Do you want something new and
appealing for your Samsung Galaxy
Y? Are you tired of the same
Android system and want to change
or customize the looks with
something more appealing? Well, if
you want, now you will be able to
update your Galaxy Y with an iOS
based custom ROM; during the
present tutorial I will show you how
to easily install the iROM firmware
on the Galaxy Y devices. Basically
the ROM is based on Android 4.0
ICS and comes with iOS themes and
apps along with many other
capabilities and features that can
power up the performances of your
smartphone, so give iROM a try.
The iROM for Galaxy Y is deodexed,
debloated, zipaligned and pre-
rooted and brings lots of
customization options that can be
used for changing the looks of your
Android phone. As stated, the
firmware is based on Android 4.0
ICS OS and comes with iOS looks,
apps and features. iROM is stable,
comes without bugs or issues and
will smoothly run on your Samsung
Galaxy Y. If you want to learn how to
install the software on your handset,
use the guidelines from below.
Since now we have showed you how
to update your device with
numerous platforms (check our
“update Galaxy Y ” section for
suitable tutorials) and also we have
showed you how to overclock the
Galaxy Y for bumping the speeds /
similar you can learn how to
undervolt the CPU for upgrading the
battery life – use the same guide.
But if that’s not enough for you, now
you can learn how to optimize your
phone by using an iOS themed and
ICS based custom ROM, which is
dubbed as iROM.
A rooted Galaxy Y will be required
though as a custom update can be
flashed only on unlocked devices.
Root access can be gained easily as
you can use a one-click root
solution, or a general root method.
Then, after gaining root access, you
need to install CWM recovery, or any
other custom recovery image on your
phone. The CWM recovery tool will
be used on the flashing operation,
so it is important to complete this
operation – else you will not be able
to complete this step by step guide.
Take note that after rooting and
installing CWM recovery, the Galaxy
Y warranty will get void – in case
you still have the warranty. As usual,
for restoring the warranty you will
have to go back to stock Android
Gingerbread OS; then the root
access will be revoked and the
default and factory restrictions
reinstalled.
Also a backup should be applied
because on the installation
procedure all of your personal data,
info and accounts will be deleted.
So, for avoiding the unpleasant
situations, before going any further,
use suitable backup and restore
apps from Google Play for saving
your contacts list, call logs, market
apps, EFS folder and anything else
you might need. Since CWM recovery
is installed, use the same for saving
the current ROM – make a Nandroid
backup. Then resume the guidelines
from below:
A computer, your Galaxy Y and its
USB cable must be near you.
ON the computer the Firewall
protection should be deactivated;
also uninstall the antivirus or
any other security protection.
Enable USB debugging on your
phone; go to “Settings ->
Applications -> Development ->
USB debugging” for checking the
USB debugging box.
Also, go to “settings ->
applications -> unknown sources”
and enable the Unknown sources
option.
The best will be to charge your
handset. Or at least ensure that
your device has more than 60%
power left – if not plug the
charger in before heading to the
update operation.
Install the iROM firmware only
on the Samsung Galaxy Y; this
guide is being compatible only
with the already mentioned
Android based device.
